The frequency and distribution of the retinal lattice degeneration is analysed in 200 cases of primary retinal detachment. A special attention was devoted to the local relation between retinal tear and lattice degeneration. It was noticed that in 63 percentage of cases the tears wefelocated in the area of lattice degeneration, but in 37 percentage the tears were situated far away from degenerated area and the lattice degeneration did not had any ethiological relation with those tears. This fact has not been ponted out in litterature but it is important in the active prophylaksy of lattice degeneration. Acta Ophthalmologica 2016;42(2):33-36.
